Job summary

The Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Music, Mind, Body and Brain at the University of Jyväskylä invites applications for 5-9 Postdoctoral Researchers for a fixed-term three-year project starting 4 January 2027.

Successful candidates will conduct fundamental research on music, mind, body and brain, design studies, apply advanced quantitative methods, publish in top journals, supervise students, and contribute to grant activities; salary starts at 3600–4800 €/month gross, with holiday bonus and

Qualifications

PhD in psychology, neuroscience, musicology, music technology, education, health sciences, computer science, data science, or related field.
Demonstrated expertise in at least one core research theme of the Centre.
Strong experimental, computational modelling, psychometrics, or statistical analysis skills.
Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

Conduct fundamental research advancing music–mind–body interactions.
Design and carry out studies in Centre themes.
Apply quantitative methods to complex datasets.
Collaborate across psychology, music, neuroscience, education, health sciences and CS.
Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present at conferences.
Supervise and mentor master's students.
Contribute to grant applications and collaborations.
