The Helsinki Institute for Information Technology (HIIT) is seeking Postdoctoral Fellowsto join the Helsinki region information technology research community. The position is intended support early-career researchers on their road towards being independent researchers, in collaboration with one or more supervisors in HIIT Faculty. The position gives the fellows excellent opportunities for high-quality and high-impact research and for creating research networks supporting their careers.

We welcome applications across all areas in Computer Science, including

• Positions are intended for researchers who have recently completed their doctoral degree or who will complete their doctoral degree before starting the position.
• Positions are hosted by Aalto University and University of Helsinki – the parent universities of HIIT.
• Positions are fully funded including salary and travel/publication costs, salaries follow the host universities’ pay scales.
• Positions are for up to three years with flexible starting dates, negotiated individually
• A successful applicant joins the research group of a HIIT Faculty member acting as a supervisor, matched based on mutual interest (see list of supervisors below)

Helsinki Institute for Information Technology is a strategic partnership between Aalto University and the University of Helsinki – two internationally leading universities in computer science and information technology. Both are located in the Helsinki Metropolitan area, and the employing university will be determined by the supervising professor. Requirements

Key requirements for the positions:

• You hold (or expect to shortly receive) a PhD in computer science, statistics, mathematics or a related field.
• You have previous experience in information technology, preferably demonstrated by a publication record in a top-tier venues.
• The positions require the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Excellent command of written and spoken English is required.
