Job summary

The University of Helsinki invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position based at Viikki Campus, Helsinki, Finland, to join the ANEW project on ecological networks and biodiversity conservation. Qualifications

• PhD completed before the start of employment in ecology or a related field.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including ecological data analysis (R).
• Research in ecological networks, biodiversity conservation, or related areas.
• Experience in ecological fieldwork, including bird/plant ID.
• Track record of publishing peer‑reviewed research.
• Excellent English written and spoken communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead research on ecological network novelty and its consequences for ecosystem functioning.
• Coordinate field resurveys of historical seed dispersal networks in Finland and Europe.
• Plan and implement international field campaigns.
• Mentor doctoral researchers and research assistants; supervise outputs.
• Publish collaborative scientific papers and present findings.
