Job summary

The University of Jyväskylä in Jyväskylä, Finland invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Accelerator-Based Neutron Physics for BNCT. The role will help realize a new Neutron Beam Line (NBL) for the 3 MV Tandetron accelerator, focusing on Li target and beam shaping assembly design.

Duties include simulating and refining the beamline, optimizing neutron production and shielding, and collaborating with the Finnish BNCT community.

Qualifications

• A PhD in Physics or Applied Physics or equivalent degree in Engineering.
• Good experimental and/or simulation skills related to neutron physics and/or BNCT.
• Preferentially prior expertise from neutron production target design and radiation safety.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize the Li target and beam shaping assembly for BNCT beamline.
• Simulate beamline components and assess neutron production and shielding.
• Collaborate with the BNCT community and pursue additional research funding opportunities.
