Job summary

St1 Nordic Oy is seeking a Platform Engineering Lead to head the Cloud & Infrastructure team, owning cloud infrastructure, automation pipelines, and platform tooling. The role blends hands‑on coding with guiding a small team, emphasizing modern DevOps, security, and intelligent automation.

You will enable developers via self‑service platforms, drive CI/CD and FinOps, and mentor teammates through hard problems.

Qualifications

• Strong developer background with hands‑on infrastructure experience.
• Solid software development background and full delivery lifecycle understanding.
• Hands‑on cloud experience (GCP and/or Azure) with cloud‑native architecture.
• Proficiency in infrastructure‑as‑code with Terraform as default.
• Understanding of cloud governance: networking, IAM, security controls, FinOps.
• Experience with CI/CD, automation, and DevSecOps practices.
• Genuine enthusiasm for AI demonstrated through tools or experiments.
• Systematic, pragmatic problem solving with good decisions under uncertainty.
• Clear communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the platform engineering team by setting technical direction and developing team skills.
• Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure, automation pipelines, and platform tooling.
• Apply infrastructure‑as‑code to standardize environments across the cloud landscape.
• Own the full lifecycle of platform services from design to decommission.
• Drive a DevSecOps approach with security, reliability, and observability from the start.
• Support developers building in cloud and hybrid environments to improve their work.
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure costs with FinOps as a core responsibility.
• Identify and implement automation to reduce manual platform work.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve cloud/deployment issues and build tooling to prevent recurrence.
• Document decisions, configurations, and practices clearly for reuse.
