Job summary

The University of Eastern Finland invites applications for a Doctoral Researcher position (4 years) in the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions COFUND Doctoral Programme for Advancing Forest-Based Bioeconomy (DP-FOBI). The position is based on Joensuu campus and begins by 1 April 2027.

The selected candidate will work with large‑scale multilingual datasets, contribute to environmental discourse studies, and participate in DP-FOBI training, workshops and secondments across partners.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in linguistics, computational linguistics, translation studies, or closely related field
• Not have a doctoral degree at time of call deadline
• MSCA mobility rule: less than 12 months in Finland in past 3 years
• Meet language skills requirements of the DP-FOBI doctoral programme

Responsibilities

• Conduct dissertation research and complete required doctoral studies
• Prepare an individual study plan and career development plan
• Participate in secondments, research visits, and dissemination activities
• Engage in DP-FOBI training such as workshops and summer schools
