Job summary

The Department of Computing at the University of Turku invites applications for a full-time, salaried Doctoral Researcher position focusing on applied cryptography and privacy enhancing technologies. The fixed-term appointment runs until 30 September 2029 and starts by mutual agreement.

Qualifications

• MSc degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
• Solid foundation in computer science with understanding of PETs and cryptographic algorithms.
• Interest in collaborative research with academia and industry.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good English proficiency (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement state-of-the-art PETs and post-quantum cryptographic schemes.
• Collaborate with European universities and industrial partners.
• Participate in project implementation and dissemination activities.
• Supervise MSc and Bachelor students and assist in teaching activities.
• Engage in proposal writing and high-impact scientific publishing.
