Job summary

Tampere University is seeking doctoral researchers to explore engaging media technologies for sustainability within the RCGR and the CLIMETA/OPEN themes. Candidates will develop their own research agenda in a multidisciplinary setting, combining design, experiments, and public engagement as part of a four-year fixed-term appointment.

Successful applicants should have a Master’s degree, fluency in English, and a strong ability to publish.

Qualifications

• Applicable degree: Master’s degree in relevant field before the start of employment (latest 1.6.2027).
• Fluency in English.
• Strong academic writing skills and existing publications.
• Aptitude for quantitative and/or qualitative empirical research (especially laboratory experiments).
• Ability to independently develop gamified environments (software).
• Interdisciplinary and design-oriented approaches are valued.

Responsibilities

• Design studies and disseminate results in academic venues and related events.
• Research planning, experiment organizing, data gathering and analysis, article writing, and dissemination of results.
• Engage in project-wide collaboration and funding acquisition.
• Teaching and supervision will be negotiated based on candidate interests.
