Job summary

Aalto University’s School of Chemical Engineering invites applications for a Doctoral Researcher in Chemical Engineering. This funded position is in an industrial collaboration with Neste Oyj and aims to develop dynamic models for trickle bed reactors, with the four-year PhD pathway.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
• Strong understanding of mechanistic process modeling and transport phenomena.
• Ability to collaborate across academia and industry and to communicate results.

Responsibilities

• Collect and critically analyze relevant literature.
• Build and analyze models for predicting dynamic trickle bed reactor operations, including material and energy balances, reaction kinetics, mass and heat transfer, phase equilibria, fluid flow, and process control and operation.
• Collaborate with team and external partners to achieve project goals.
• Present findings at conferences and publish results in peer-reviewed journals.
