Job summary

The University of Helsinki invites applications for a fixed-term Doctoral Researcher position in Radiopharmaceutical Chemistry with the TRIM group. The work starts in January 2026 or when a suitable candidate is found and runs for about 3.5 years.

The role includes teaching lab courses and supervising undergraduates, accounting for ~5% of time. The project aims to develop alpha-emitting radioligands for cancer therapy, involving organic synthesis, radiolabeling, and PET/SPECT evaluation in vitro

Qualifications

• M.Sc. in Chemistry or related field and radiochemistry background.
• Experience in lab work, organic synthesis and compound characterization.
• Strong English written and spoken communication; independent researcher.

Responsibilities

• Carry out organic synthesis, purification and radiolabeling precursor characterization.
• Develop radiolabeling synthesis and evaluate radioligands in vitro and in vivo.
• Present findings to collaborators and assist with manuscripts and travel grants.
• Share responsibilities in managing group facilities and supervise undergrad lab work (~5%).
