Qualifications

  • A relevant MSc or equivalent qualification in ecology, evolutionary biology, conservation biology, zoology, environmental science, biogeography or another relevant field.
  • Research training or experience through a thesis or dissertation or equivalent research-based work.
  • Strong interest in ecological research and developing as an independent researcher.
  • Foundation in quantitative analysis and willingness to develop skills in R, statistical modelling and reproducible research.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication in English.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing openly to a collaborative team.
  • Willingness to undertake international fieldwork, museum work and research visits.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct fieldwork across a European climatic gradient (Spain, UK, Finland) and collaborate with international researchers.
  • Handle museum specimens and digitisation tasks as part of data collection.
  • Develop and apply quantitative analyses in R to ecological datasets.
  • Contribute to open science practices and reproducible workflows.
  • Engage with a network of museums, field ecologists and biodiversity researchers.
