Job summary

Tampere University in Finland invites applications for a University Instructor (part-time, 70%) in the Higher Education Group (HEG). The role centers on teaching within the MARIHE Master’s Programme and research aligned with higher education policy and governance.

The successful candidate will teach courses, contribute to research projects, and pursue external funding. A doctoral degree is advantageous, with on-campus presence required in Finland.

Qualifications

• A master's degree from relevant field.
• Strong expertise in the subject areas of the courses to be taught.
• Good or excellent teaching skills and the proven ability to teach in English.
• Good collaboration and interpersonal skills.
• Previous experience of project work and securing external funding.
• A doctoral degree relevant to the position, substantial progress towards a doctoral degree, and other evidence of research and societal engagement is considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in the MARIHE Master’s Programme and deliver the listed courses.
• Lectures, seminars and supervision of group assignments and other small-group teaching.
• Contribute to HEG’s projects and conduct research related to the field.
• Support securing external funding as part of the unit’s activities.
• Occasional societal engagement duties as required.
