Job description

The Vacancy

Are you passionate about our oceans and keen to work with businesses in supporting fisheries who meet MSC’s globally recognized standard for sustainability? If so, this could be the opportunity for you.

We are looking for a digitally savvy and highly organised Outreach & Administration Officer for Finland and the Baltic and Central Europe (BCE) team to help us drive sustainable seafood market initiatives in the region. You will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of the MSC program by providing outreach support to the Country Manager for Finland & Baltic States as well as regional administrative support to the Program Director, BCE.

You will collaborate with leading seafood brands, retailers and foodservice businesses to promote wild-caught sustainable seafood. If you are a dedicated professional with a passion for sustainability, we invite you to join us in our mission to drive change and make a positive impact for the future of our oceans.

You will play a key role supporting the work and activities in Finland. A motivated and organised self-starter, you will participate in multiple projects, building relationships with our partners and liaising closely with the Baltic and Central Europe team, as well as other MSC teams across our global network.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has a relevant degree in marine subjects or sustainable business, with knowledge of the Finnish retail and food service market and global supply chains.
  • Is digitally savvy and ready to take on new technology and tasks.
  • Is fluent in Finnish and English. Any additional languages covered by the BCE region are seen as a bonus.

If this has inspired you, please click on the apply button and send in your current CV with a covering letter in English!

We look forward to hearing from you!

Application closing date : 28 July 2025, 9am, BST

We’re an international organisation and our employees all demonstrate a level of cultural awareness, and value the diverse views and approaches relevant to the MSC program.

The MSC is committed to flexible working. As we currently have no physical office in Finland, the successful candidate will be working from home full time.

Working at the MSC

The MSC’s vision is for the world’s oceans to be teeming with life, and seafood supplies safeguarded for this and future generations. Today, the impacts of overfishing and climate change pose an even greater threat to the ocean and fish stocks. Through our internationally recognised certification and ecolabeling program, well-managed sustainable fisheries are recognised and rewarded throughout the seafood supply chain. Over 700 fisheries around the world, representing 19% of the annual global marine catch, are now engaged in the MSC program and MSC certified and labelled seafood products are now available in over 66 countries. Through partnerships and collective endeavour, we are on a mission to end overfishing.
