Job summary

Hypermine, a Finnish deep-tech start-up, seeks an Operations Coordinator in Espoo. This full-time role covers finance, people, and marketing operations to help scale a fast-growing, world-first mining technology company. You will manage invoices, onboarding, policies, and communications while supporting events and brand consistency.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in admin/ops/HR/finance or marketing, a business degree, and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset with strong teamwork skills.

Today, even the most sophisticated mining companies are in the dark about the mineral content of the ore they process. Decision-making relies on fundamentally inaccurate mine block models lacking any real-time information. This leads to loss of critical materials, final product price discounts and costly plant shutdowns.

Transition to precision mining is critical for the world, with metals like copper becoming central to the global economy. In the next 25 years, the world will need as much copper as has been mined throughout human history, with all of the world's easy-to-mine deposits largely depleted.

Hypermine is a Finnish deep-tech start-up transforming how the mining industry extracts natural resources. Spun out of VTT and supported by Tier 1 mining company Anglo American, Hypermine is commercializing breakthrough mineral sensing technology designed to bring real-time, data-driven decision-making into the most critical parts of the mining process.

Our proprietary technology combines unique laser illumination, a patented hyperspectral platform and machine learning to identify minerals and ore grades in real time - 24/7 and in demanding mining conditions. By giving mining companies 100x more accurate information about the material they extract, Hypermine enables better operational decisions, improved ore recovery and profitability, and reduced energy and water consumption.

Following years of technology development and validation, Hypermine is now entering a new phase of commercial growth. We are working with 5 leading global mining companies across several continents, including Australia, South and North America, and are building the products, technology organization and capabilities needed to scale internationally.

The Role

We are looking for an Operations Coordinator to join our team in Espoo. This is a full-time position.

Salary range for this position is 3 300 - 4 300 EUR per month.

As our Operations Coordinator, you will:

• Have a broad role with hands-on learning and room to take on more responsibility as you grow.
• Get to see every side of running a growing early-stage deep-tech company
• Keep Hypermine's day-to-day business operations running smoothly across finance, people and marketing
• Finance and admin: handle sales and purchase invoices, expenses and travel bookings. Help with month-end tasks and reporting, and keep contracts, insurance and company records organised.
• People operations: Coordinate recruitment practicalities, onboarding and offboarding. Keep our policies and employee handbook up to date, and organise team events.
• Marketing and communications: keep our website, LinkedIn and sales materials current. Help prepare content, coordinate trade fairs and events, and make sure everything follows our brand guidelines.
• Office and ways of working: run office practicalities, document and improve our everyday processes, and find ways to make routine work easier with our tools.

Required Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in administration, operations, HR, finance or marketing, and eagerness to learn the others.
• A degree in business administration or a related field
• An organised, reliable way of working, with an eye for detail and comfort juggling several tasks at once.
• A proactive attitude: you spot what needs doing and get it done.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
