Job summary

g2 Recruitment is seeking a Cost Manager/Commercial Leader for a freelance/contract role onsite in Finland. The position covers large-scale construction projects, handling budgets, forecasts, cash flow, variations, claims, and subcontractor accounts.

You will administer contracts, support procurement, and deliver accurate commercial reports to stakeholders while identifying risks and opportunities. Fluency in English is required; Finnish language skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience as Cost Manager, Commercial Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Lead, or similar required.
• Experience on large-scale construction projects required.
• Background in CSA, GC, or MEP environments preferred.
• Proven cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial reporting skills.
• Strong understanding of contracts, procurement, variations, and claims management.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluent English required; Finnish language skills are advantageous but not essential.
• Must be able to work onsite in Finland for the duration of the project.

Responsibilities

• Manage project commercial and cost management activities across large-scale construction projects.
• Monitor project budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and overall financial performance.
• Administer contracts, variations, change orders, claims, and subcontractor accounts.
• Support procurement activities, tender evaluations, and subcontractor negotiations.
• Prepare and present accurate commercial and cost reports to stakeholders.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities and develop mitigation strategies.
• Ensure contractual compliance and commercial best practices are maintained throughout project delivery.
• Work closely with project, construction, client, and contractor teams to drive successful project outcomes.
