The International School of Helsinki (ISH) is a vibrant, inclusive, and non-profit learning community offering education to students aged 4 to 18 through the International Baccalaureate (IB) continuum. Located in Finlands capital, ISH fosters a global mindset and prepares students for the complexities of the modern world. Our community includes over 100 staff members and approximately 500 students representing diverse cultures and nationalities.
We are seeking a new, temporary team member to support the office staff at the reception, offering help with office duties. Persons with wage subsidy for long-term unemployed or older workers (työllistymistuki) are given priority in this search.
Key Responsibilities Include
– Warmly welcome guests, hand out visitors passes, and assist all people upon arrival at the school, including parents, students, and staff
– Respond to telephone inquiries and forward calls and messages
– Sort and distribute daily mail
– Assist in copying and archiving duties
– Arrange catering, and support other events and arrangements
– Help the school personnel in any other duties and needs

Qualifications
– Proactive, warm and friendly customer service approach is essential
– Proficiency in spoken and written English and Finnish
– Sensitivity to an international environment
This position is for a 9 months leave replacement during our office staff holiday arrangements, between September and May. There will be unpaid breaks during school holidays (October, December-January and February). The position can be part time (minimum 60%) or for a shorter period, if requested by the candidate.
