Job summary

Midwest Express Clinic is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner to serve as a clinical leader across Elmhurst-Butterfield, Elmhurst-York, and River Forest locations. The role supports urgent and primary care with a focus on evidence-based patient care and exceptional experiences.

The FNP will collaborate with medical staff, supervise clinical activities, and help drive operational excellence. Requires NP credential, IL/IN license, and ability to work across clinics in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold an RN/NP license with active Family Nurse Practitioner credentials in IL and/or IN.
• Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited NP program.
• Strong clinical decision-making and procedural skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages with acute illnesses and injuries.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
• Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic tests (lab and radiology).
• Perform procedures including laceration repair, incision and drainage, foreign body removal, splinting, nail procedures, injections, DOT physicals, and occupational medicine services.
• Prescribe medications within scope of practice.
• Ensure accurate documentation in the EHR.

The Role

The Family Nurse Practitioner serves as a key clinical leader within the clinic, providing evidence-based care services while fostering an exceptional patient experience. This role partners closely with Medical Assistants, Radiologic Technologists, leadership, and physicians to deliver efficient, high-quality care that aligns with MEC’s standards for service, safety, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

ClinicalExcellence

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages presenting with acute illnesses and injuries
• Develop and implementappropriate treatmentplansutilizingevidence-based medicine

WhatWe’reLooking For

Required:

• Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Active Family Nurse Practitioner license in Illinois and/or Indiana
• Ability to treat patients across the lifespan
• Strong clinical decision-making and procedural skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred:

• Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, or Occupational Medicine experience
• Experience performing common urgent care procedures
• DOT Certification (or willingness to obtain)

Scheduling Requirements

• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Flexibility to support multiple clinic locations

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is$125,000-130,000, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
