Job summary

saldeх is seeking a skilled Confectioner / Pastry Chef to craft a wide range of pastries, desserts and confections, with emphasis on traditional Middle Eastern recipes such as baklava and kunafa. You will prepare doughs, fillings and syrups, and decorate cakes and confections to a high standard.

The role requires either hands-on experience with Middle Eastern pastries or a relevant pastry certificate, and the ability to work independently on similar products.

Qualifications

• Experience in preparing Middle Eastern pastries and confectionery products or a certificate/diploma from a relevant course.
• Ability to independently prepare products such as baklava, kunafa/knafeh and other similar Middle Eastern bakery items.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Middle Eastern pastries and sweets from start to finish.
• Make baklava, kunafa and other specialty products.
• Prepare doughs, fillings, syrups, creams, and decorations.
• Prepare and decorate cakes, pastries and other confectionery products.
• Maintain product quality, taste and presentation.
• Handle and store ingredients properly.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and food safety in the work area.
