Job summary

HCLTech Finland is seeking an experienced MES Business Analyst / Functional Consultant to bridge manufacturing operations and technology solutions across plant sites. You will work with production, quality, maintenance, and inventory teams to define, design, and implement MES solutions that drive operational excellence and digital transformation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Consultant, or MES Consultant in manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including Production, Quality Management, Maintenance, and Inventory operations.
• Experience with MES platforms such as Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell FactoryTalk, AVEVA/Wonderware, Dassault Apriso, SAP ME/MII, Camstar, or similar solutions.
• Expertise in business process mapping, requirement gathering, and functional documentation.
• Experience creating user stories, process flows, use cases, and BRDs.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Understand end-to-end manufacturing operations across Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Inventory Management processes.
• Analyze AS-IS and TO-BE business processes across shop-floor systems and MES applications.
• Conduct workshops and requirement-gathering sessions with plant users and stakeholders.
• Define process flows, use cases, business rules, and functional specifications for MES implementations.
• Act as the primary SPOC between manufacturing stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
• Gather, analyze, document, and validate MES requirements.
• Translate shop-floor requirements into user stories, functional requirements, and technical specs.
• Collaborate with solution architects, developers, and integration teams for MES delivery.
• Support testing activities including SIT, UAT, defect management, and training.
• Drive continuous improvement and standardization across sites.
• Ensure alignment of MES solutions with KPIs and business objectives.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced MES Business Analyst / Functional Consultant to bridge the gap between manufacturing operations and technology solutions. The ideal candidate will work closely with plant stakeholders, production teams, quality, maintenance, inventory functions, and technical teams to define, design, and implement Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions that drive operational excellence and digital transformation across manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand end-to-end manufacturing operations, including Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Inventory Management processes.
• Analyze current-state (AS-IS) and future-state (TO-BE) business processes across shop-floor systems and MES applications.
• Conduct workshops and requirement-gathering sessions with plant users and business stakeholders to capture functional, operational, and reporting requirements.
• Define process flows, use cases, business rules, and functional specifications for MES implementations and enhancements.
• Act as the primary point of contact (SPOC) between manufacturing business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
• Gather, analyze, document, and validate business requirements for MES solutions and manufacturing digitalization initiatives.
• Translate shop-floor operations and manufacturing requirements into user stories, functional requirements, and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with solution architects, developers, and integration teams to ensure successful MES solution delivery.
• Support testing activities including SIT, UAT, defect management, and user training.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process optimization opportunities and supporting standardization across manufacturing sites.
• Ensure alignment of MES solutions with manufacturing best practices, operational KPIs, and business objectives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Consultant, or MES Consultant in manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including Production, Quality Management, Maintenance, and Inventory operations.
• Experience with MES platforms such as Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell FactoryTalk, AVEVA/Wonderware, Dassault Apriso, SAP ME/MII, Camstar, or similar solutions.
• Expertise in business process mapping, requirement gathering, and functional documentation.
• Experience creating user stories, process flows, use cases, and business requirement documents (BRDs).
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of ISA-95, Industry 4.0, Smart Manufacturing, and Digital Manufacturing concepts.
• Experience with ERP-MES integrations, particularly SAP.
• Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project delivery methodologies.
• Experience supporting global manufacturing deployments and multi-site standardization initiatives.
