The Project
We are recruiting a Mechanical Project Manager to support the delivery of a major Data Centre development in Western Finland.
The initial scope covers two buildings on a four-building development, with the potential for the mechanical contractor to secure the remaining two buildings.
The mechanical package includes chilled-water risers, plantroom skids, interconnecting pipework, testing, QA and commissioning coordination.
Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for assigned mechanical packages from mobilisation through installation, testing and handover.
- Manage the installation of chilled-water risers and associated pipework.
- Oversee 16 internal plantroom skids per building and the interconnecting pipework between skids and risers.
- Manage site installation teams and coordinate mechanical activities against the project programme.
- Liaise with the Ireland-based project/support team regarding delivery sequencing, materials and hire equipment.
- Monitor progress against programme and provide weekly reporting covering progress, delays, variations and upcoming activities.
- Coordinate pressure testing, torquing and QA documentation for installed systems.
- Ensure accurate project records are maintained using systems including FieldView, Revizto and 4Projects.
- Coordinate commissioning of plant skid equipment and testing of installed pipework.
- Liaise with equipment manufacturers and head office to organise commissioning once water and power become available.
- Coordinate with other contractors responsible for the wider chilled-water and commissioning scope.
- Maintain high standards of quality, safety and installation compliance throughout delivery.
Candidate Requirements
- Strong mechanical construction/project management background.
- Demonstrable experience delivering chilled-water and/or major pipework packages.
- Previous pipefitting or mechanical installation experience highly advantageous.
- Experience managing mechanical installation teams and subcontractors.
- Strong understanding of pressure testing, mechanical QA and commissioning/handover.
- Able to manage programme, materials, sequencing, delays and variations.
- Comfortable working on rotational projects in Finland.
- Data Centre experience is desirable but not essential.
- Candidates from other technically complex mechanical environments will be considered where they have strong chilled-water/pipework delivery experience.
