Job description

Are you the MECHANICAL DESIGNER for our technology industry customer in Vantaa? The open position is with a world-leading material handling solutions supplier serving civil contractors and processing industries. It is not a typical run-of-the-mill job; there are project deliveries and R&D work with different processes requiring various solutions. Much of the work involves welded stainless steel or plastic piping enduring pneumatic and hydraulic pressure.

In this role, you will be part of a design team led by the customer's chief designer. With at least part of the manufacturing on the same site, seamless feedback is guaranteed. Work is mainly done on-site, and the assignment is also suitable for a freelance entrepreneur within our supplier network.

We expect you to have:

• Relevant M.Sc./B.Sc. engineering degree.
• 3-5 years of relevant mechanical design experience (e.g., sheet metal), including creating high-quality manufacturing drawings and adhering to design schedules.
• Prior experience in designing pneumatic/hydraulic powered equipment is a clear advantage.
• Understanding of FEA principles and aptitude for basic hand calculations.
• Experience working with AutoCAD, primarily Creo, and item management in PTC Windchill PLM system.
• Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written; Finnish skills are an advantage.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team on multiple projects under occasional time pressure.
