Job summary

A prominent engineering services company is seeking a Mechanical Construction Manager for a Data Centre project in Helsinki, Finland. The successful candidate will manage client communication, prepare risk assessments, and schedule pipework installations. Applicants should have relevant mechanical qualifications and preferred experience in mechanical contracting and data centre projects. Qualifications

  • Experience in data centre projects is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Manage communication with the client.
  • Prepare method statements and risk assessments for construction activities.
  • Coordinate with the project team to schedule pipework installation.
  • Review the project at handover, manage procurement of equipment and subcontractors, and oversee technical purchasing.
  • Assist in documenting and pricing scope changes and preparing monthly valuations and final accounts.
  • Support the project schedule, including a two-week look-ahead plan with the project team.
  • Ensure sufficient labour resources are available according to the project schedule.
  • Ensure all compliance and governance requirements are followed, especially site health and safety.

Job description

Enersense Engineering is currently seeking a Mechanical Construction Manager to support our client’s Data Centre project located in Helsinki, Finland. We are hiring on a permanent basis and the position is set to start as soon as possible.

Main tasks and responsibilities
  • Manage communication with the client
  • Prepare method statements and risk assessments for construction activities and ensure HVAC work meets project and safety requirements
  • Coordinate with the project team to schedule pipework installation according to the project timeline
  • Review the project at handover, manage procurement of equipment and subcontractors, and oversee technical purchasing
  • Assist in documenting and pricing scope changes and preparing monthly valuations and final accounts
  • Support the project schedule, including preparing a two-week look-ahead plan with the project team
  • Ensure sufficient labour resources are available according to the project schedule
  • Ensure all compliance and governance requirements are followed, especially:
    • Site health and safety, ensuring subcontractors work safely
    • Identifying improvements to working methods to increase safety
    • Maintaining good housekeeping standards on site
Requirements
  • Relevant mechanical qualification (e.g., Engineering degree, City & Guilds, HNC/BTEC, or NVQ)
  • Experience in a similar role within a mechanical and electrical contracting environment is preferred
  • Data centre project experience is an advantage
  • Good organisational, communication and time management skills
