Job summary

Wärtsilä Voyage seeks a Math Modeller to build dynamic mathematical models for vessel equipment and systems, and to develop the front-end of simulators. You will document methods and maintain existing models while working within an agile team.

The role prefers Helsinki as the location with a possible hybrid setup in Finland, including negotiable arrangements for Turku. Strong numerical and modelling skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Degree in physics, applied math, engineering or similar field.
• Experience in modelling physical systems.
• Basic knowledge of numerical methods for PDE/DAE.
• Familiarity with OOP or an OOP language.
• English at least intermediate.

Responsibilities

• Develop dynamic math models from scratch for vessel equipment and systems.
• Create the front-end side of simulators.
• Compile technical documentation for these models.
• Maintain existing models and improve accuracy.
• Participate in agile development activities.
