Job description

CMI – Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation is an independent organisation that works to prevent and resolve conflicts through dialogue and mediation. Founded in 2000 by Nobel Peace Laureate and former President of Finland Martti Ahtisaari, we have since grown to be a leader in the field of international peacemaking.

CMI is now seeking a Manager, IT and Information Management to join its Finance and Administration Team. The role bridges technical expertise and hands-on work with strategic organisational development, driving CMI's digital transformation while maintaining operational excellence.

The Manager will oversee CMI’s IT policies, processes and information management practices while ensuring our IT infrastructure supports both operational requirements and security standards.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing CMI’s IT operations including device management, licensing, systems integration, and information security in partnership with external service providers.
  • Participating in strategic development initiatives and supporting the operationalisation of CMI’s digitalisation strategy by aligning IT development with organisational needs.
  • Leading the development of data management and governance practices within Microsoft cloud environment.
  • Supporting the integration of responsible AI tools and data practices into CMI's information environment.

What we are looking for:

  • At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in IT management, information management or relevant roles with proven track record in process optimisation, project management, and implementation of digital transformation initiatives.
  • A relevant degree in IT, business or a related field is preferred, or similar proven skills through work experience.
  • Experience in information security management.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, classification and compliance frameworks (including GDPR).
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft cloud environments (Microsoft 365, Azure, Purview, Entra ID.)
  • Experience managing outsourced IT service providers.
  • Experience in data quality processes, lineage tracking, and granular access controls.
  • Excellent understanding of AI landscape and recent developments. Knowledge of AI governance frameworks and ethical AI use.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI solutions with other systems and processes.
  • Capacity to stay ahead of emerging trends in the field, combined with intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to continuous learning.
  • Strong communication and teamworking skills.
  • Flexible attitude and ability to work under pressure in challenging circumstances and to tight timelines.
  • Fluent written and spoken English is required. Proficiency in Finnish is considered an advantage.
