Job summary

Orion seeks an Environmental Manager to lead the G-OPS environmental program in line with EHS policies and regulations. You will oversee ISO 14001 practices, set targets and KPIs, and ensure regulatory compliance across operations in Finland.

You will collaborate with EHS, Sustainability, and management teams, engage with authorities such as Tukes, and drive improvement programs to support Orion's targets while fostering a strong environmental culture at sites in Finland.

Qualifications

• Educational background in environmental sciences, engineering, or related field.
• Experience in environmental management, preferably in industrial or regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations and EHS frameworks.
• Experience developing management systems, processes, and KPIs.
• Experience with wastewater, emissions, waste management, chemicals, environmental permits, and related operational compliance.
• Ability to lead complex topics and drive change across an organization.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluency in Finnish and strong working proficiency in English.
• Advantage: experience with authorities and inspections; pharmaceutical/chemical/manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage environmental responsibility within G-OPS in line with Orion’s EHS policies and applicable regulations
• Develop and manage the G-OPS environmental management system, including ISO 14001-related practices, processes, and ways of working
• Plan, implement, monitor, and continuously improve environmental management operations
• Define environmental objectives, targets, and KPIs, and drive their implementation and follow-up
• Ensure that environmental regulations, standards, and procedures are recognized and implemented across operations
• Drive environmental improvement programs and projects aligned with Orion’s corporate targets
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including G-OPS management, EHS and Sustainability functions, to establish targets and processes
• Act as the main contact towards relevant authorities and support environmental inspections and audits (e.g. Tukes)
• Lead the G-OPS environmental management network
• Provide expert support and guidance to sites and stakeholders to foster a strong environmental responsibility culture

Requirements

• Relevant educational background in environmental sciences, engineering, or a related field
• Solid experience in environmental management, preferably in industrial or regulated environments
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations and EHS frameworks
• Experience in developing management systems, processes, and KPIs
• Practical experience in environmental topics such as wastewater, emissions, waste management, chemicals, environmental permits, and related operational compliance
• Ability to lead complex topics and drive change across an organization
• Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Fluency in Finnish and a strong working proficiency in English
• In addition, the following will be considered an advantage:
