Are you looking for...

an exciting professional challenge?

We are one of the leading European contract manufacturers in the pharmaceutical, biotech and healthcare sectors, with some 2,300 employees in Germany, France, Finland, UK and Norway. For us, the next step is always the one that matters most. Our fast pace drives us forward, fills our working environment with life and spurs our growth. Our winning formula for shared success: room for passion. Because we know that passion is the best medicine when it comes to excellent service around the world. Welcome to NextPharma.

At NextPharma Tampere, we develop, manufacture and package ophthalmic products used by patients around the world. Tampere site combines decades of pharmaceutical expertise with an exciting transformation journey, including site expansion, new technologies and new customer projects.

Are you ready to shape EHS excellence at a growing pharmaceutical manufacturing site?

We are looking for an experienced and energetic Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and continuously develop EHS and sustainability at Tampere manufacturing site. This is a new, visible role for someone who enjoys being close to the business, engaging with people and turning EHS requirements into practical everyday ways of working.

With around 350 employees, the site is investing in growth, safety culture and operational excellence. You will work closely with site leadership, employees, corporate EHS and sustainability colleagues, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance, improve performance, and build a positive, practical EHS culture across the site.

Your key responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, maintain and continuously improve the site EHS Management System, procedures and KPIs.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS legislation, permits, regulatory reporting and NextPharma standards.
  • Be visible across the site, engaging with employees and managers to strengthen safe, practical ways of working.
  • Drive safety culture through training, coaching, risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Support audits, inspections and follow-up actions.
  • Partner with managers, employees, site leadership and corporate EHS/Sustainability teams to integrate EHS into operations and projects.
What we are looking for:

You are not looking for your first EHS role anymore: you already have solid experience, confidence and credibility. At the same time, you are not someone who wants to work only behind a desk. You enjoy being visible on site, talking with people, understanding real operations and helping teams make EHS part of everyday work.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety, Chemical Engineering or a related field
  • Several years of hands‑on EHS experience, ideally in a chemical, pharmaceutical or other regulated manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of local EHS legislation, environmental permits, risk management and regulatory reporting
  • A practical mindset, with the ability to translate formal EHS requirements into clear, workable actions for the site
  • Energetic, approachable and friendly personality, with strong communication skills and the ability to build trust at all levels
  • Experienced driving improvements through Lean, Operational Excellence or similar methods is valued
  • Fluent written and spoken Finnish and English are mandatory
Why join us?
  • Shape a newly created EHS role at a growing pharmaceutical manufacturing site
  • Be visible and influential across the site, working closely with people in real operations
  • Contribute to products that help improve patients’ lives worldwide
  • Influence safety culture, sustainability and continuous improvement at site level
  • Work in a collaborative, international environment with strong cross‑functional exposure
  • Enjoy competitive compensation and benefits, including flexible working hours, lunch and well‑being benefits, leisure insurance and company events
  • Develop your career within an international organization

This is a permanent senior white‑collar position reporting to the Site Director, with a matrix reporting line to the Global EHS Director. The preferred starting time is September–October 2026.
