Job summary

Sandvik Mining, Underground Drilling Division in Tampere (Myllypuro) Finland seeks a Manager, Applications and Platform Software. You will lead a global team delivering equipment, digital tool and platform software across sites including Tampere, Lyon, Winnipeg and Jinan.

Responsibilities include developing fit-for-purpose processes, ensuring compliance with design standards, and building cross-divisional culture of product commonality. Fluent English and strong leadership are required.

Qualifications

Job description

Sandvik Mining, Underground Drilling Division has end-to-end responsibility for product management, new product development (including engineering, manufacturing and supply chain), product marketing and technical sales support for Underground Drills in mining and tunneling.

Our Technologies & Software Team is now looking for a Manager, Applications and Platform Software for a full-time, permanent position to be based in Tampere (Myllypuro), Finland.

Your role

As a Manager you are leading global team responsible for equipment, digital tool and platform software development. As a leader you shall be responsible for software deliveries for all division sites; Tampere, Lyon, Winnipeg and Jinan. Development responsibility includes both new product and maintenance engineering. Your role includes managing global pool of development and test engineers by ensuring right mix of competence, location of competence and building insourcing and partnering strategies. You shall actively allocate global development pool resources based on division priorities. Your role covers developing fit for purpose processes and tools together with your own team and together our centralized process development organization. You shall demonstrate our core values and strengthen collaboration between site teams to build cross division culture of product commonality, compliance with internal and external design standards, harmonized architecture and working principles. Your profile

• You have a suitable degree in software engineering
• Minimum 5 years of experience in SW development manager position is mandatory
• You act as an inspirational and supportive team leader and demonstrate leadership behaviors through Sandvik core values
• Good understanding in SW architecture and on our most commonly used languages; QT, Web, C++, MATLAB Simulink
• Demonstrated skills in developing SW development process and tools
• You are result oriented
• You hold strong communication and collaboration skills that is essential in daily co-operation
• You communicate fluently in English
• You are a team player, curious and continuously drive for improvement
