Are you ready to take on a role as a Mainframe Specialist, supporting our mainframe teams across the Nordics?

About The Role

As a Mainframe Specialist, you will serve as both a subject matter expert on the platform and a key support resource for various Mainframe units across the Nordic region. In this role, you’ll act as an internal technical consultant, contributing to the management and development of our Mainframe systems used for insurance and claims administration.

You’ll be part of our Nordic Mainframe specialist team, collaborating closely with developers, administrators, and technicians from external partners. You’ll often be involved in platform changes and complex issues that require structured problem-solving. Staying up to date with developments in the Mainframe world is essential—and so is sharing that knowledge with your colleagues.

About The Team

You will be part of a team consisting of 3 colleagues who all work in the Mainframe Centre of Excellence team. Two members are based in Turku (Finland) and the 3rd in Stockholm (Sweden).

You are curious and driven, with deep expertise in Mainframe systems. You thrive in both collaborative and independent settings, and you’re passionate about technology and continuous learning. You enjoy sharing your knowledge, documenting your work, and contributing to meaningful change. With a strong sense of responsibility and a service-oriented mindset, you’re not just a tech expert—you’re a team player who understands the value of communication and business insight.

You also have:
  • Solid experience with Mainframe systems and operating environments.
  • Background in system programming and/or software installation on Mainframe platforms.
  • Proficiency in COBOL; knowledge of Assembler and REXX is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CICS, IMS, DL/I, Db2, and JCL.
  • Understanding of Mainframe security, especially RACF and compliance standards like ISO 27001.
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset with strong documentation habits and a passion for learning.
  • Proficiency in English, and a Nordic language is a plus.
Additional Facts And The Recruitment Process
