Job summary

Verne is seeking a Project Engineering Lead to drive the successful engineering execution of a Data Center project in Helsinki. You will serve as the primary technical interface between design, procurement, delivery, and construction, ensuring compliance with Verne's standards and delivering on time and within budget.

Your role covers engineering strategy, liaison with suppliers, technical sign-offs, FAT/SAT, and site coordination to achieve a robust, buildable facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or physical sciences.
• Experience leading engineering execution on complex projects.
• Strong ability to manage subcontractors and sign-off authority.

Responsibilities

• Ensure engineering intent is translated into a constructed, operational facility.
• Apply the Project Engineering Strategy across the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with procurement, delivery and construction teams to meet goals.
• Manage specialist subcontractors and ensure formal reviews and sign-offs.
• Lead design meetings, control documentation, and sign off exceptions.
• Oversee discipline managers and ensure technical compliance.
• Inspect supplier facilities and resolve technical non-conformities.
• Support commissioning, handover, and as-built documentation.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a physical sciences discipline
