Job summary

Wärtsilä is seeking an On-Call Trainee in Legal to support the Compliance team. Preferred location is Helsinki, with Vaasa or Turku also negotiable, and hybrid work offered. The role is up to 25 hours per week while you are a full-time student pursuing a degree in Finland.

You will assist with investigations, policy work, and risk assessments, requiring strong English skills and independent, collaborative working in a global environment.

Qualifications

• Ongoing law studies (preferably in the later stages of studies).
• Previous experience working in a law firm or an in-house legal department is considered an advantage.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English skills.
• Interest in compliance, corporate governance, and international business law.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global environment.

• Support compliance investigations through legal research, document review, and case administration
• Assist with compliance policies, guidance, training materials, and internal communications
• Conduct legal research and support compliance risk assessments and monitoring activities
