Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer to shape and automate the infrastructure powering its industrial data analytics solutions, spanning cloud and on‑prem environments. The role collaborates with developers, system architects, and product owners to deliver reliable, scalable platforms.

You will work with AWS/EKS, OpenShift, Rancher, Terraform/OpenTofu, Helm, Ansible, and Jenkins in hybrid cloud and industrial edge contexts, while aiming for secure, self‑service platforms and long‑term

Qualifications

• Experience in platform engineering or DevOps in modern software environments.
• Hands-on with containerized apps, IaC, and automated provisioning.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and release automation.
• Ability to guide technical decisions and support developer enablement.
• Fluent English skills, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Guide Platform Engineering direction with system architect and engineering teams.
• Stay hands-on: contribute to platform implementation and problem solving.
• Automate environments using IaC for Dev/QA provisioning and teardown.
• Develop cloud and on-prem platforms spanning AWS EKS and on-prem setups with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher, Ansible.
• Streamline packaging and CI/CD for distributed deployments.
• Enable engineering teams to adopt and troubleshoot platform services.
• Advance DevSecOps and supply chain security in pipelines.
