Job summary

KONE Technology and Innovation in Hyvinkää is seeking a Lead Engineer, Machine Sensors. You will own sensor technologies across lifecycles, drive innovation, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to deliver reliable sensing solutions for next generation machines.

You will contribute to product reliability, energy efficiency, and digital capabilities while supporting manufacturing, quality, and field operations in a global setting.

Qualifications

• Strong practical experience in electronics, signal processing and sensor technologies.
• Experience with motion feedback sensors (encoders, position, speed).
• Understanding of sensor data acquisition, analysis and interpretation.
• Embedded systems and sensor software interfaces knowledge.
• Experience leading technical development projects and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to work in international and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and lifecycle management of machine-related sensing solutions and components.
• Drive sensor R&D and innovation with internal and external partners.
• Evaluate and introduce new sensor technologies for future KONE products.
• Manage supplier-driven component and sensor changes through product lifecycles.
• Define technical requirements and verify sensor performance against needs.
• Analyze measurement data and field feedback for product improvements.
• Plan sensor verification, testing and documentation activities.
• Collaborate with suppliers on development, qualifications and roadmaps.
• Support manufacturing, sourcing and quality in sensor topics.
• Contribute to future sensing technology strategies and digital initiatives.
