Job summary

Empiric is seeking a Finnish-speaking Lead Enterprise Architect to help establish a new architecture centre of excellence within a Finnish central government agency. You will provide architectural direction across multiple development initiatives and services, helping standardise enterprise architecture across the organisation.

This role combines leadership with hands‑on modelling using UML, BPMN and ArchiMate, plus Sparx Enterprise Architect expertise, to influence how the architecture function

Qualifications

• Experience as Lead Enterprise Architect across multiple client projects (≥3) with six‑month+ durations.
• Hands-on modelling in UML, BPMN and ArchiMate across multiple client projects (≥2) with six‑month+ durations.
• Sparx Enterprise Architect usage covering modelling and repository management in at least one project (≥ six months).
• Guiding architecture across several development initiatives/services (≥3 projects, each 6+ months).
• Excellent Finnish and English language skills are mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Provide architectural direction across multiple development initiatives and services.
• Shape and establish a consistent enterprise architecture approach within the organisation.
• Balance leadership with hands‑on modelling and Sparx EA usage to influence the operating model.

Lead Enterprise Architect - Public Sector - Finland - Remote

Empiric are looking for a Finnish-speaking Lead Enterprise Architect to help shape a new architecture centre of excellence within a Finnish central government agency.

You'll provide architectural direction across multiple development initiatives and services, helping establish a consistent approach to enterprise architecture across the organisation.

This role combines architecture leadership with hands-on modelling and Sparx Enterprise Architect expertise, offering the opportunity to influence how the new architecture function operates from the outset.

Key Skills & Experience

• Experience as a Lead Enterprise Architect across at least three client projects, each lasting six months or more.
• Hands-on UML, BPMN and ArchiMate modelling experience across at least two client projects, each lasting six months or more.
• Sparx Enterprise Architect experience covering tool use, modelling and repository management across at least one client project lasting six months or more.
• Experience guiding architecture across multiple development initiatives or services, demonstrated through at least three client projects, each lasting six months or more.
• Excellent Finnish and English language skills are mandatory.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with critical infrastructure information systems, particularly transport.
• Knowledge of public-sector information management.
• Experience developing or operating an architecture centre of excellence.
• Experience delivering training and facilitating workshops.

Location: Helsinki, Finland

Work Mode: Remote, with meetings via Teams

Contract Setup: Freelance / B2B

Duration: 3-year agreement, with a further 2-year extension option
