Job summary

Comatec Process and Automation Oy in Imatra is seeking a Lead Automation Designer to join our automation team. You will lead the technical design, programming, and commissioning of industrial automation systems, and help shape system architectures.

You will mentor junior designers, collaborate across project teams, and travel within South Karelia as needed. A strong background in Siemens TIA Portal and control systems is essential to deliver robust automation solutions.

Qualifications

• Education as a technician, engineer, or Master of Science in electrical or automation engineering.
• Strong expertise in the Siemens TIA Portal environment (PLC, HMI).
• Knowledge of control systems (e.g., Siemens WinCC, AVEVA System Platform, InTouch).
• Knowledge of common fieldbuses (e.g., Profinet, Profibus).
• Experience with electrical drives (frequency converters, servo drives).
• Good collaboration and teamwork skills as well as the ability to work independently.
• Willingness to guide and support junior designers.
• Willingness to perform commissioning tasks in the South Karelia region.
• Willingness to travel.

We are looking for an experienced automation professional who wants to utilize their strong technical expertise in industrial automation systems and act as an expert in our customers' projects.

In your role

• you are responsible for the technical implementation of automation design and automation solutions
• you perform conceptual design, programming, and commissioning of industrial automation systems
• you participate in the definition of system architectures
• you provide technical support within project teams
• you guide and support junior designers as needed

What we expect from you

• education as a technician, engineer, or Master of Science in electrical or automation engineering

Salary for the position is between 4500–5300€/month. The final salary is determined based on the selected person's expertise and experience.
