Job summary

Smartlyio in Helsinki is seeking a Software Engineer to join team Aqueduct, focused on building a data platform for large-scale cross-platform advertising. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience, strong programming skills, and familiarity with data processing frameworks.

The role involves building data systems, collaborating across teams, and ensuring system stability and availability while contributing to the architecture. Smartlyio offers a hybrid work model and a supportive global culture.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of industry experience.
• Experience with SQL and some RDBMS (PostgreSQL, Citus, etc.).
• Ability to work in a hybrid capacity from our Helsinki office 3 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Build a large scale data storage and processing system.
• Collaborate with other engineers to ensure architecture and engineering excellence.
• Build APIs for internal and external consumers of the data.

Skills

Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, Scala and/or Java)

Experience with data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Flink)

Familiarity with streaming systems (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis)

Experience with SQL and RDBMS (PostgreSQL, Citus)

Experience contributing to large-scale data systems
