A leading airline in Finland is seeking an IT Product Expert to support the New Distribution Capability area. The role involves developing functionalities, managing product evolution, and working collaboratively with various stakeholders. Candidates should have at least 3 years of relevant experience, good knowledge of NDC technologies, and strong communication skills. A Bachelor's degree is required. We are now looking for a motivated
IT PRODUCT EXPERT, NDC
to join NDC Technical team in Digital Retail & Revenue part of Finnair Digital either in Vantaa, Finland (on the grounds of Helsinki Airport) or in Tartu, Estonia.
In this role you will contribute to developing and supporting Finnair NDC (New Distribution Capability) area according to company strategic goals. New Distribution Capability is a travel industry-supported program launched by IATA for the development of XML-based data transmission to facilitate air retailing. The application enhances the capability of communications between airlines and travel agents. Airlines can launch new travel retail products faster and personalize them through NDC platform.
Main responsibilities:
Participates in creating, communicating and managing customer centric product evolution together with Applications Lead, Product Owners and Experts, Business Owners and other relevant stakeholders.
Responsible for evaluating and delivering prioritized new functionalities and modules in cooperation with Applications Lead, Product Owners and Experts, Business Owners and other product team experts. Acts as a solution subject matter expert understanding the business processes and information requirements. Supports development on digital and data platforms.
Responsible for supporting the products in own area and creating relevant documents and instructions.
Participate in relationship management with vendors related to the NDC development and support together with internal key stakeholders
Responsible to execute development work for the products using the agreed Finnair agile ways of working. Actively developing own ways of working to ensure continuous improvement of the development speed and quality. Responsible for quality assurance and testing of the new features and functionalities to the solutions.
Works proactively and closely together with other teams to ensure development of the product cross functionally.
Coordinates support activities with relevant stakeholders including incident follow-ups and problem management aiming to improve the product as well as processes, documentation and solutions impacted by the product.
Understanding the product budget structure and status.
We appreciate:
Good industry knowledge on the area of Airline Distribution and Retailing and especially on NDC technologies
Minimum 3 years of experience in development, implementation, testing and support of airline products and applications with a subject matter expertise of NDC seen as a strong benefit
Knowledge and experience on agile methodology
IT solution, platform, architecture, relevant technology and compliance requirement understanding
Proactive problem solving and creative mindset
"Development attitude" and motivation to enhance processes, applications and ways of working
Excellent team-working and communication skills
Fluent written & spoken English
Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge from the area
