Job description

Do you thrive on making internal IT work smoothly, securely and efficiently, and enjoy taking ownership of how it develops? We do.

We’re looking for an experienced IT Manager to take ownership of Vincit’s internal IT for our ~500 employees. You have previous experience leading internal IT and are comfortable taking broad responsibility for services, technology, vendors, costs and continuous development. You’ll also lead selected IT projects across Vincit.

What is the job like really?

As IT Manager, you’ll have overall responsibility for Vincit’s internal IT environment and its continuous development. Our end-user support is fully outsourced, so this is not a hands‑on support role. You own the outcome: making sure our IT services work, our provider delivers what’s expected, costs stay under control, and internal IT continues to meet the needs of our employees and business.

You’ll inherit an established provider and SLA, and one of your first contributions will be taking a fresh, critical look at whether the current setup still delivers what a technically demanding organisation needs.

End-user experience and security are very important at Vincit, and you’ll have a significant impact on both.

You’ll know you’ve succeeded when our internal IT runs smoothly, recurring problems are solved at the root, our partners deliver what’s expected, costs stay under control, and improvements and projects create lasting value.

Here’s a snapshot of your key responsibilities:

  • Leading and developing internal IT: You take overall responsibility for Vincit’s internal IT environment and its continuous development. You look across services, technology, vendors, costs, security, processes and end‑user experience, making sure internal IT supports both our employees and business needs. You identify priorities and drive improvements into practice.
  • Managing services, partners and costs: You manage our outsourced end‑user support provider, govern the SLA, run regular service reviews and hold the provider accountable for quality and responsiveness. You also manage and optimise IT costs, including SaaS, licences and partner‑related costs, and act as the senior escalation point when needed.
  • Leading IT projects: You take end‑to‑end ownership of selected rollouts, migrations, tooling changes, security and infrastructure initiatives. You manage scope, timeline, budget, vendors and stakeholders from planning to delivery and clean operational handover.
  • Driving continuous improvement: You focus on root causes, better processes, self‑service and efficiency. The goal is not just to solve individual issues, but to make sure the same problems don’t keep coming back.
What are we looking for?

We’re looking for an experienced IT Manager with a proven background in leading internal IT. You enjoy taking ownership of the bigger picture, developing how IT operates and turning plans into action.

  • Internal IT leadership: Proven experience leading an internal IT function or a broad internal IT environment. You have previously been accountable for internal IT services, vendors, costs and development, rather than only an individual service or project area.
  • Service & vendor management: Proven experience managing outsourced IT services, vendors and SLAs, with the ability to drive quality through partners rather than doing the work yourself.
  • IT financial management: Experience managing IT costs, particularly SaaS, licences and external partners, with an eye for both efficiency and value.
  • IT project management: A track record of delivering IT projects on scope, time and budget, from planning through implementation and handover.
  • Technical understanding: Broad, T‑shaped understanding of IT environments, allowing you to evaluate solutions, challenge providers and lead projects credibly without needing to be the deepest specialist.
  • Ownership, communication & prioritisation: A proactive and pragmatic mindset with the ability to communicate clearly across different audiences, drive results through others and prioritise calmly when operational issues and project deadlines compete.
  • Language & location: Fluent in Finnish and English. The role is based in Helsinki or Tampere, with a hybrid model and an emphasis on onsite work.

Service management grounding or qualifications such as ITIL, experience with recognised project methodologies, and experience working with a technically sophisticated user base are considered advantages.

Where can this role grow?

You’ll report to our CIO. As you build trust and a strong track record, we expect you to take on increasing responsibility and become someone the CIO can confidently hand things to and trust to drive them forward.

At Vincit, you’ll work in a technology‑driven environment where we explore cutting‑edge technologies and challenges such as AI adoption at scale, while keeping security, user experience and costs in balance.

What's in it for you?

As a 500‑person company, we combine the support and career opportunities of a larger organization with the agility and low hierarchy of a smaller one. This gives you both the structure to succeed and the freedom to shape how things are done — together with a supportive community around you.

Here are a few more reasons why Vincit is worth considering:
  • Variety and impact in projects – from smaller implementations to large business transformations, often involving real business change, not just system implementations.
  • AI at the core – work with modern AI tools in your daily work, deepen your expertise, and contribute to building AI‑driven solutions. In 2026, we became the first company in Finland to receive the ISO/IEC 42001 certification for our AI management system.
  • Strong partner ecosystem – as a Microsoft Solutions Partner and SAP Gold Partner, we work closely with leading technology providers, giving you access to high‑quality projects and deep expertise.
  • Trusted and responsible way of working – our EcoVadis assessment and ISO certifications ensure high‑quality, secure, and responsible delivery for our customers.
And what else do you get as a Vincitizen?
  • Flexibility & work‑life balance – shape your work around your life, whether it’s family, hobbies, or something else important to you, while also making use of our top‑notch office spaces in an award‑winning workplace
  • Solid pay – €5,500–€5,700 monthly base salary, depending on your experience and expertise, plus a bonus. You’ll also benefit from Vincit’s personnel fund, and transparent salary weeks
  • Comprehensive benefits – including lunch benefit, healthcare and dental services, insurance, childcare services, high‑quality equipment, and more
  • Growth & career opportunities – develop your skills through Univincity and shape your path toward new roles, specializations, or directions. Read inspiring examples of career paths in our career stories.
  • Active communities – a transparent and humane organization where people connect, collaborate, and have fun together. It’s where our belief, "extraordinary things are created together", comes to life — and one of the reasons we’re an award‑winning workplace.
  • Commitment to inclusion – we believe in a more inclusive digital world and strive to create a safe, welcoming workplace for everyone
