Job summary

Vincit is seeking a Databricks Engineer to build data platforms and pipelines for a diverse set of customers. You will design solutions from source to lakehouse and perform hands-on PySpark and SQL work, collaborating with customers to shape the approach.

You will participate in advisory and delivery projects, maintain platform quality with CI/CD and Git, and help teams drive data-driven decisions. Proficiency in Finnish and English is required.

• Several years of hands-on Databricks Engineer or Data Platform experience.
• Strong experience with PySpark and SQL.
• Experience with Delta Lake and lakehouse architectures.
• Experience with Databricks Asset Bundles, CI/CD, and Git.

Job description

Do you enjoy building data pipelines and platforms that just work? We’re looking for a Databricks Engineer to join Vincit and work across a diverse portfolio of customers. In this role, you’ll build data platforms and pipelines of various sizes, all the way from source to lakehouse. Solutions are designed together with the customer, and depending on the project your role can range from high-level steering to hands‑on PySpark and SQL work. Requirements aren’t always fully defined at the start, so you take the lead in shaping the solution and driving development work proactively.

What is the job like, really? Our customer base and projects are broad and diverse, ranging from smaller customers with focused data needs to larger enterprises with complex data platforms. You’ll work in both advisory‑focused engagements and hands‑on delivery projects where Vincit takes full responsibility for the solution.

Here’s a Snapshot Of Your Key Responsibilities

• Building data pipelines – designing and developing ETL/ELT processes with PySpark and SQL that move data reliably from source systems into Databricks
• Building lakehouse architectures – planning and implementing Delta Lake and lakehouse solutions that support reliable, scalable analytics
• Monitoring and optimizing pipelines – keeping an eye on pipeline performance and reliability, and improving them as the platform evolves
• Managing platform and code quality – working with Asset Bundles, CI/CD, and Git to keep deployments and codebases in good shape
• Supporting development teams and business users – working closely with fellow engineers and business stakeholders to keep data flowing smoothly
• Driving projects proactively – taking the lead when the customer isn’t yet sure what they need, and steering development in a sensible direction

What are we looking for?

You’ll do well in this role if you enjoy solving practical technical problems and take ownership of what you build. You’re comfortable switching between planned development work and situations where something unexpected needs fixing fast. You also enjoy working with others. You’ll have colleagues around you, but much of the day‑to‑day collaboration happens with business users and customers, so being able to explain, discuss, and solve things together matters.

Your background

• Several years of hands‑on experience in Databricks Engineer or Data Platform roles, with strong, well‑established skills rather than a junior‑level background
• Strong experience with PySpark and SQL
• Experience with Delta Lake and lakehouse architectures
• Experience with Databricks Asset Bundles, CI/CD, and Git
• A customer‑first, self‑driven attitude
• Strong problem‑solving skills
• Strong proficiency in Finnish and English

It’s a Strong Plus If You Have

• Experience with dbt
• Experience With Power BI Or Other BI Tools
• Experience working with large‑scale data volumes
• Databricks certifications (Associate / Professional)
