Join Our Team: Investor Relationships Manager

Maria 01 is one of Europe’s leading startup ecosystems, providing a thriving environment for almost 250 ambitious early-stage startups, renowned investors and VCs, large enterprises and other ecosystem organisations. Maria 01 is located in the old Maria Hospital in Helsinki, Finland.

Since its founding in 2016, Maria 01 has grown into one of Europe’s most impactful startup communities. Member and alumni companies have raised over €1 billion in funding and account for approximately 40% of all early-stage VC investments raised by Finnish startups annually. The community has also produced several major success stories — including Maria 01’s first unicorn, Linear, and other high-profile exits such as Silo AI.

Position Overview

We are now looking for an ambitious and relationship-driven Investor Relationships Manager to join our team full-time. In this role, you’ll be responsible for cultivating and managing relationships with both local and international venture capital firms and angel investors — playing a central part in building bridges between investors and startups.

You’ll work closely with the Maria 01 Partnerships team, the CEO, and our startup community to ensure investors gain real value from engaging with Maria 01 — from discovering promising startups to deepening their presence in the ecosystem. This role is ideal for someone passionate about the early-stage landscape, who thrives on building meaningful relationships, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves to turn ideas into action and make things happen on the ground.

What You’ll Do

  • Build, manage and develop investor relationships: Act as the main point of contact for local and international investors, ensuring they are actively engaged in the community. Maximise Maria 01’s visibility among the investor community, both in Finland and abroad.
  • Drive investor engagement initiatives: Plan and execute investor-focused events such as pitch sessions, investor dinners, office hours, and closed-door briefings.
  • Facilitate deal flow: Connect startups at Maria 01 with relevant investors, support matchmaking, and monitor outcomes.
  • Manage assigned strategic partnerships: Work closely with selected partners and ensure that the deliverables in the partnership are met.
  • Support visibility and communications: Collaborate with our marketing team to highlight success stories and promote investor-focused content.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Investor ecosystem knowledge: You understand the dynamics of venture capital, angel investing, and early-stage fundraising. Experience working at or with VC firms or in a startup fundraising capacity is highly valued.
  • Relationship builder: You are confident and natural in building long-term, trust-based relationships with high-level stakeholders.
  • Independent & strategic: You take ownership of your work, can operate independently, and contribute to the long-term investor strategy of Maria 01.
  • Proactive & organised: You know how to prioritise and move initiatives forward with structure and attention to detail.
  • Strong communicator: You are fluent in English and can communicate clearly and compellingly with diverse stakeholders. Finnish language skills are a plus but not required.
