Job summary

SH Travel Oy in Finland seeks a responsible, reliable and enthusiastic person to work with dogs and guests in an active outdoor setting. You will explain husky activities in English, care for dogs, and maintain hygiene and safety standards while supporting daily husky-farm operations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Comfortable working in an active outdoor environment with huskies.

• Welcome guests warmly and help create a safe, enjoyable husky experience.
• Be flexible with hours, including weekends and during peak tourist periods.
• Work independently as well as part of a team and take initiative.
• Assist with other general duties related to the daily operation of the husky farm.

Job description

We are looking for a responsible, reliable and enthusiastic person who enjoys working with animals and people and is comfortable working in an active outdoor environment.

– Good command of English, with clear, confident and friendly communication skills. You should be comfortable communicating with international guests and explaining activities and basic husky-related information in English.

– A valid driving licence recognised for use within the EU.

– Good physical fitness and stamina.

– A genuine interest in dogs and animal care. You should feel comfortable working in close contact with huskies on a daily basis and be attentive to their health, behaviour and wellbeing.

– A friendly and service-minded attitude, with the ability to welcome guests warmly, answer questions and help create a safe, enjoyable and memorable husky experience.

– Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays and during busy tourist periods, according to the needs of the business.

– A responsible, reliable and safety-minded approach to work.

– Commitment to animal welfare and hygiene. You are expected to follow our procedures for dog care, kennel cleanliness, hygiene and safety at all times.

– Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, take initiative and complete daily tasks responsibly.

– Additional language skills such as Spanish, German, French, Italian, Chinese or other languages are a distinct advantage.

– Previous experience with dogs, animal care, tourism, hospitality, guiding or outdoor activities is an advantage, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.

– Willingness to perform other general duties related to the daily operation of the husky farm.
