Overview

Are you the one who will lead us on the journey to serve our large customers with their Property and Liability risks? Then the job as Head of Underwriting Property & Liability Finland might be for you!

Property insurance is one of the most important insurances for businesses. It can be costly if their building, machinery, or inventory is damaged. In addition, there can be significant financial losses due to production stoppages. As a commercial customer, it can also be expensive if you are unlucky and damage something, or if your products or services cause damage. Therefore, liability insurance is a cornerstone when insuring corporate customers. In Property & Liability Underwriting, we assess special and large risks. This involves pricing, adjusting the terms, and providing good advice to our corporate customers on loss preventive measures. Our Underwriters have a unique role in helping customers understand the risks and insurance needs related to their business, while ensuring a good business.

About The Role

Your team and you play an important and visible role in serving large customers, while helping them manage their risks and creating a healthy business. The role has a responsibility for the profitability of the portfolio. You are also responsible for building and maintaining relationships with our customers and partners. To succeed in the role, you will work closely with other teams at If, notably the Sales and Services organisation. In addition, you will also work closely with counterparts in other Nordic countries, sharing knowledge and experiences. But most importantly, you are a good leader for your employees. This means that you build confidence in the team, see the individual, and have the ability to inspire and motivate others.

About The Team

The team consists of 17 skilled team members, within both Property and Liability. The team has a lot of industry experience, solid competence and handles a portfolio with 10,000 customers. The team members are located in several cities around Finland, to be close to our customers. In this role, you will also be a member of our Nordic leadership team within colleagues across the Nordics. In our team we focus on running a healthy and long-term good business in a balanced environment, where we work together toward common goals.

Who are you?

We are looking for a leader with a strong interest in Underwriting or Property and Liability related fields. You have a passion for the subject and a good business understanding. You have demonstrated the ability to lead and motivate teams and creating a team culture based on collaboration.
