Job description

ReOrbit is looking for an exceptional Head of Talent Acquisition to join our team and build and lead our talent acquisition function while remaining deeply involved in hiring.

As our Head of Talent Acquisition, you will work closely with the executive team and business leaders to understand our growth priorities, anticipate talent needs, and bring exceptional people into the organization. This is an equally strategic and hands-on role, where you will build the function, lead and develop a high-performing TA team, while also rolling up your sleeves and recruiting.

It's an exciting chance to join a dynamic start-up, with the opportunity to make a real impact, to reach our goal of pushing the boundaries of space data transfer.

Responsibilities
  • Own TA strategy, workforce planning, and the operating model, deciding the right mix of direct sourcing, internal recruiting, and external search.
  • Set and maintain a high hiring bar and build assessment practices that identify real capability, not just polish.
  • Source and engage passive candidates directly and build relationships with people before a role opens.
  • Lead urgent or high-stakes searches when the team needs support.
  • Work directly with hiring managers and technical leads to translate business and technical priorities into hiring plans, and challenge the brief when needed.
  • Build the metrics and reporting needed to give clear visibility into hiring progress and support decision-making.
  • Build and strengthen ReOrbit's employer brand in a talent market that is small, specialised, and historically homogeneous.
  • Lead and develop the TA team while remaining actively involved in recruitment.
  • Navigate hiring across Finland, India, and other markets as ReOrbit continues to grow internationally.
Skills and Requirements
  • A strong track record of personally hiring and closing rare, specialised technical talent, in addition to leading a recruitment team.
  • Experience building or reshaping a talent acquisition function in a scale-up or growing organisation, including processes, tooling, quality standards, and metrics.
  • Genuine player-coach experience, with the ability to source and recruit directly while coaching a team and setting the overall strategy.
  • Experience hiring across multiple countries or working with international and distributed teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility with technical leaders and challenge hiring requirements when needed.
  • A hands-on and pragmatic approach, comfortable moving between strategic work and day-to-day recruitment when the business requires it.
