Job summary

University of Helsinki seeks a Director of Communications and Community Relations to lead and develop the sector, serving as a strategic partner to senior leadership. The role oversees a team of more than 100 specialists and drives activities that support the university's strategic plan and global visibility.

You will report to the director of administration, and the position starts January 1, 2027. Fluency in Finnish, English and Swedish is required.

Qualifications

• Experience leading communications and advocacy with a strategic horizon.
• Ability to set and implement a long-term plan aligned with objectives.
• Ability to communicate complex issues clearly and persuasively.
• Experience with crisis communications and risk management.
• Goal-oriented leadership and enhancement-driven approach.
• Strong understanding of society, decision-making and media landscape.
• Master’s or equivalent degree in a relevant field.
