Job summary

Academic Work Finland Oy is seeking a seasoned Commissioning Engineer to lead onsite testing and validation of high‑voltage power electronic systems. You will collaborate with field teams and customers to ensure performance and safe operation within the global grid.

In this role you will perform SAT and pre‑commissioning, diagnose hardware and software issues, prepare detailed test reports, and provide technical guidance at international construction sites.

Qualifications

• Must have advanced electrical engineering knowledge.
• Experience with site commissioning or field testing of STATCOM/SVC/HVDC.
• Experience using test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power analyzers, Omicron).
• Able to read schematics, circuit diagrams and layout drawings.
• Willingness to travel internationally.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Lead onsite SAT and pre-commissioning for high-voltage systems.
• Perform hardware and system tests to verify specifications.
• Identify and resolve hardware and software defects during commissioning.
• Serve as primary technical contact for customers during onsite visits.
• Prepare and archive test reports and compliance documentation.
• Manage onsite task schedules and identify risks to timelines.
• Provide technical guidance to installation contractors and field teams.
