We are looking for a full-time SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER for training for work and independent living (TELMA) in Jyväskylä for a permanent employment contract. Work starts as soon as possible after a suitable person is found.
As a special education teacher, your work team includes a teaching instructor and other guidance staff according to the students' personal needs. Your core skills are to evaluate which appropriate methods achieve the best learning outcomes. Timely and individual guidance enables the development of our students' personal skills. Learning by doing is our natural way of learning, and skills are acquired in diverse learning environments at the institution and in other possible operating environments, including workplaces. TELMA training is part of the student's overall rehabilitation and is implemented in multidisciplinary cooperation with the student's close network, rehabilitation services, and other operators.
For a permanent employment contract, we require a qualification as a vocational special education teacher suitable for the teaching task (Decree 986/1998 on the qualification requirements for teaching personnel). Success in the position also requires knowledge of speech-supporting and alternative communication methods and up-to-date digital skills. We may consider hiring an unqualified person on a fixed-term basis for a maximum of one year.
We are in Jyväskylä. We follow the collective agreement concerning the private education sector. The teacher's annual working time is applied in the position. The salary range for the position is approximately €4,158 – €5,559 / month. The monthly salary paid for the position depends on the person's education and previously accumulated work experience that brings essential benefit to the position. The mentioned salary range applies to persons who meet the required qualification. The person selected for the position must provide a criminal record extract in accordance with the Act on the checking of the criminal background of persons working with children and youth (504/2002).
