Job summary

Trimble Espoo is seeking a passionate Frontend Engineer to lead the UI of our Agentic AI Platform, designing responsive interfaces with TypeScript, React and TailwindCSS.

You will build a core UI library, collaborate with backend, UX/UI and AI researchers, and help shape scalable frontend architectures while embedding AI concepts into practical tooling.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of professional frontend development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript, React, and TailwindCSS.
  • Solid CS fundamentals and experience building responsive UIs.
  • Experience with frontend testing, CI/CD, and code reviews.

In this role, you will be instrumental in building the intuitive user interfaces that power sophisticated AI agents. You will tackle challenging technical problems related to user experience and front‑end architecture, developing a core UI library, internal tools, testing environments, and user‑facing components for agent interactions. You will contribute to the architectural direction, collaborating closely with backend specialists, UX/UI designers, and AI researchers. This role requires strong software engineering fundamentals, practical experience building scalable and performant front‑end systems, and a keen interest or experience in modern AI technologies.

Key Exciting Responsibilities
  • Frontend Development & Implementation: Design, implement, test, and deploy user‑facing features and internal tools using modern front‑end technologies, including TypeScript, React, and TailwindCSS.
  • Develop a core UI library and reusable components to enable efficient development and deployment of AI agents and associated tooling.
  • Write high‑quality, maintainable, and well‑tested code for front‑end systems.
  • Implement and improve monitoring, logging, and alerting for the front end.
  • Participate actively in code reviews.
  • Technical Design & Contribution: Contribute significantly to technical design and architecture discussions, considering front‑end implications for new features and system improvements.
  • Collaborate with principal engineers, product managers, UX/UI designers, and researchers to refine requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Evaluate and prototype new technologies and frameworks relevant to front‑end development.
  • Take ownership of the technical implementation for specific features or components.
  • Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Work closely with teammates and cross‑functional partners (Product, Design, Research, other Engineering teams) to deliver cohesive user experiences.
  • Share knowledge and document designs and processes effectively.
  • May mentor junior engineers on front‑end development practices.
  • Operational Excellence: Troubleshoot and debug complex issues in production environments.
  • Contribute to improving the scalability, performance, security, and usability of the platform's interfaces.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent practical experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience specializing in front‑end development.
  • Deep technical proficiency in TypeScript, React, and TailwindCSS.
  • A solid grasp of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms, to solve complex architectural challenges.
  • Experience building and deploying responsive and performant user interfaces.
  • Experience with system design and architecture, with the ability to contribute to complex design discussions.
  • Interest in or practical experience with AI/ML concepts, particularly working with or integrating Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Experience with software development best practices (testing frameworks, CI/CD, monitoring, code reviews).
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Bonus Points For Experience building a comprehensive UI library or component system from scratch.
  • Background in building developer tools or interfaces for complex technical products like AI/ML or data platforms.
  • Hands‑on experience with agentic AI frameworks (e.g.LangChain or LlamaIndex), vector databases (e.g. Pinecone, Weaviate) or RAG techniques.
  • Proficiency with state management libraries like Zustand or Redux and modern build tools like Vite and Webpack.
  • Experience optimizing the performance and scalability of front‑end applications.

Logistics

Location: Espoo - Finland, Bodegraven - Netherlands or Brasov - Romania.

This is in‑office role (4 days per week in office and 1 day can be remote) Travel Requirement: Minimal (0-10%).
