Job summary

Pet Valu in Markham, Ontario is seeking a Fixture Warehouse General Labour to support the maintenance of equipment and fixtures in our warehouse and assist in delivering fixtures to stores.

You will perform shipping/receiving, help with store set-ups, relocations, and cycle counts, and operate pallet jacks and forklifts with training provided.

This full-time role offers daytime hours, safety focus, and opportunities to grow within a pet-loving company.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3 months of warehouse experience.
• Knowledge of fixtures is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver store fixtures for new stores, expansions, and relocations.
• Store take-downs for closings and relocations.
• Shipping and receiving duties.
• Pick and prepare racking orders for corporate and franchise stores.
• Organize picking locations.
• Conduct periodic product cycle counts.
• Notify supervisor when inventory is below established quantities.
• Warehouse housekeeping and safety.
• Operate material handling equipment.
• Check equipment condition before use.
• Receive incoming merchandise and verify against POs.
• Receive and restock store returns.
• Prepare outgoing loads for shipment.
• Other tasks as required.

What is the role?

The incumbent will assist in the maintenance of equipment and fixtures in the warehouse. They will also assist in delivery of fixtures to stores and minor install projects.

What will you do?

• Deliver forStore set ups pertaining to new stores, expansions, andrelocations, which includes loading and unloadingfixtures;
• Store take-downs pertaining to store closingsand relocations;
• Shipping and receiving duties;
• Picking and preparation of racking orders placed by corporate and franchise stores;
• Organization of the picking locations;
• Conducting periodic product cycle counts;
• Notifying the supervisor when product inventory levels are below established quantities;
• Warehouse housekeeping, sweeping, cleaning, organizing;
• Operation of material handling equipment;
• Checking the physical condition of materialhandlingequipment before operating;
• Adherence to the safety rules and practices designed to ensure safety of operations and condition of stock;
• Receiving incoming merchandise (checking packing slips against purchase orders, verification of goods received - product description and quantity);
• Receiving and restocking of store returns, including: racking, shelving, display boards,etc;
• Preparing outgoing loads for shipment, ensures that loads to be shipped are complete;and
• Other tasks and assignments as required

What will you need to succeed?

Education and Experience

• High School
• 3 months of previouswarehouseexperience
• Knowledge offixturingwould be an asset

Knowledge and Skills

• Must be capable of heavy lifting50+ lbs
• Must be capable of standing/walking for extended periods of time
• Must be capable of using standard power tools as required: saws, drills, etc;
• Must havea validdriver’s licence
• Must be able to workbetween7am – 4pm
• Extensive daily travelmay be required as needed
• Operate a powered pallet jack – willing to train
• Operate a forklift – willing to train

Compensation:

The targeted hourly pay range for this position is$26 -$29 per hour. The final offer will be based on factors such as market location, relevant skills,experienceand internal equity.
