Job summary

Sanoma Learning in Helsinki is seeking a Finance Specialist, Accounting & Reporting to strengthen our Nordic & Group Accounting Services team. You will manage month-end close, statutory and tax reporting, and work with auditors, ensuring compliance and timely financial statements.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders, drive process improvements, and participate in finance system roll-outs, while leveraging SAP (S4HANA) and local GAAP knowledge in a dynamic, international environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance or similar.
• Five+ years of experience in accounting or audit in an international company.
• Strong knowledge of local GAAP and tax.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in English as well as Finnish.
• Meritorious: IFRS knowledge.
• Experience from SAP, preferably S4HANA.

Responsibilities

• Handle monthly close, statutory and tax reporting for multiple legal entities.
• Coordinate with external/internal auditors and manage local tax audits.
• Collaborate with business partners and other finance colleagues to provide strong local accounting expertise.
• Continuously improve local accounting, tax and reporting processes and tools.

On a monthly basis you are in charge of the month-end closing process, ensuring quality and timely reporting of the financial results in HFM, ensure accounts are reconciled and key controls are performed. You are responsible for all statutory reporting including preparation of financial statements and tax filings.You are the first point of contact towards external/internal auditors and coordinate potential local tax audits. You also collaborate proactively and closely with business stakeholders and other finance colleagues, providing strong local accounting and tax expertise.Further, you play a key role in continuously improving and enhancing our local accounting, tax and reporting processes. You are quickly able to adapt to new processes and tools, can resolve any problem quickly and understand how to optimize our systems and ways of working.
