Job description

At DS Smith, we are redefining packaging for a changing world, creating sustainable solutions that support a circular economy. We are now looking for a Finance Manager to lead our Finnish finance organization and play a key role in driving business performance, financial governance, and continuous improvement across our operations.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance leader who enjoys combining strong financial expertise with hands‑on business partnering. Based at our site in Tampere, you will lead a team of six finance professionals and work closely with local management as well as the wider North EMEA finance organization. As a member of the Finnish Leadership Team, you will provide financial insight and challenge, helping the business make informed decisions and achieve its strategic objectives.

In this role, you will have overall responsibility for finance operations in Finland, including accounting, reporting, forecasting, budgeting, financial controls, and compliance. You will ensure the delivery of accurate and timely financial information, support working capital and cash flow performance, and identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency. You will also play an important role in driving process improvements, supporting system development initiatives, and strengthening finance capabilities across the organization. Based in Tampere and leading the Finnish Finance team, you will report to our Finance Director North EMEA.

About you

To succeed in this position, you will bring a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline, together with solid experience in financial accounting, controlling, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. You have previous people leadership experience and a track record of developing high‑performing teams. You are commercially minded, analytical, and confident influencing stakeholders across different functions and levels. Experience from a multinational manufacturing environment is essential, while exposure to change management or finance‑related systems implementations would be a valuable advantage.

Fluent Finnish and English language skills are required.

We offer a visible and influential leadership role within a truly international business, where you will have the opportunity to shape finance operations, contribute to business decision‑making, and support a culture of continuous improvement. You will join a collaborative organization with strong ambitions for growth and sustainability, where your expertise will make a real impact.

If you are looking for a role that combines operational finance leadership with strategic business partnering in an international environment, we would love to hear from you.
