Job summary

Context& in Finland is seeking a Data Platform Architect/Engineer to shape client data platforms on Microsoft Fabric. You will own architecture, lead migrations, and design scalable, secure lakehouse environments for analytics, AI, and real-time data.

You will work with Lakehouse, Data Factory, and notebooks, collaborate across teams, and mentor others while staying hands-on with SQL and PySpark. Hybrid Helsinki office with remote options; Finnish fluency required.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in data engineering or data platform development with architecture responsibility.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric including Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory and notebooks.
• Excellent SQL and PySpark/Spark skills; deep understanding of data warehouse and lakehouse architectures.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of client data platforms built mainly on Microsoft Fabric: OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory pipelines, notebooks and Real-Time Intelligence.
• Lead migrations from Azure Synapse and other Azure platforms to Fabric, including planning and hands-on delivery.
• Design medallion architectures (bronze/silver/gold) and secure, scalable data models and semantic layers.
• Define how Fabric is governed and run: workspaces, capacity sizing, cost, security and CI/CD with Git.
• Build and review pipelines with SQL and PySpark; set engineering standards for the team.
• Prepare data for Power BI, Copilot and Fabric data agents.
• Act as trusted technical advisor; support pre-sales and mentor others.
